The path of gentleness

There are many ways to feel pleasure, to heal and to expand.

The place I’ve chosen is that of gentleness.

We live in a time of harshness and conflict.

A time that teaches about competition, pressure, winning and losing.

A time of comparison and judgment.

A time of power and powerless.

And so many of these principles may be expressed in our sexual pleasure. And so many of these may cause us to disconnect from ourselves, contract us, tighten us, shut us down.

When we seek pleasure or healing, when we look to grow we may bring the same ideas.

It’s the same space: contraction, tension, competition.

In gentleness we’re offered a different way.

A way of allowing.

A way of unfolding.

A way of slow movement.

A way of flow.

In gentleness we soften, we open.

We relax, we release.

We let go.

We can’t do that in tension, in contraction.

In gentleness we allow.

So a tantric massage is slow and gentle.

And then the resistance drops.

The body softens, opens.

Energy flows.

We can let go.

We can feel.

We can breathe.

We can feel aroused.

We can open up to passion from that place.

The extension of this is that when we find more gentleness within ourselves we can find it in our relationships, in our words, in the way we are in the world, and the way the world is with us.

There’s something I’ve realized since I have been offering tantric massages.

It’s something so simple that we tend to overlook its power and importance.

To remember to relax.

Gentleness is the space we can relax.

Our nervous systems can find a place of recovery, regeneration, renewal, revitalization.

We can take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.

And just be.
